Certification Progress
The programme requires 700 - 1000+ apprenticeship hours and typically takes 12–18 months, depending on your availability. The certification process includes:
3 independent 2-3 day seminars, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced, covering all exercises on all apparatus, safety and modifications, best teaching practice, tips and techniques.
3 practical tests (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)
4 written tests (1 Intermediate, 3 Advanced)
Training Commitment
10 - 15 hours per week in the studio divided between:
observation
weekly sessions with the teacher trainer
apprentice mat class
practice teaching (independently and supervised)
independent practice
Every Friday afternoon apprentices participate in a 2 hour workshop at which attendance is required.
Pre-requisites to the training
Each applicant must demonstrate proficiently in their personal practise and be able to demonstrate both the intermediate mat and Reformer (with clean transitions). They should already be practising regularly with a RPI teacher.
